Today the world lost the most genius comedian of our generation. He hid his depression deep in his laughter, and sadly in his alcoholism and drugs. We must strive to keep our head above the water and fight this horrid mental disorder that affects millions of lives.
But depression is sickening real. It is an empty, dark, and lonely void. It is utterly painful and, once caught up in the worst of it, you can't escape it. For those who manage to claw out of the abyss, it's so important to seek help immediately. Whether if its a doctor or counsellor or spouse or parent or best friend, your voice must be heard, otherwise all is lost.
My thoughts and prayers to all those, including myself, who suffer from depression. May the Lord guide us and, by His grace shine a bright light amidst the deep, lurking abyss of hopelessness.
