RIP Robin Williams

Journal Entry: Tue Aug 12, 2014, 12:11 AM

Today the world lost the most genius comedian of our generation. He hid his depression deep in his laughter, and sadly in his alcoholism and drugs. We must strive to keep our head above the water and fight this horrid mental disorder that affects millions of lives.

But depression is sickening real. It is an empty, dark, and lonely void. It is utterly painful and, once caught up in the worst of it, you can't escape it. For those who manage to claw out of the abyss, it's so important to seek help immediately. Whether if its a doctor or counsellor or spouse or parent or best friend, your voice must be heard, otherwise all is lost.

My thoughts and prayers to all those, including myself, who suffer from depression. May the Lord guide us and, by His grace shine a bright light amidst the deep, lurking abyss of hopelessness.

RIP Robin :cries:

WoW! Super impressive stuff. Really enjoyed your work and so many styles. I can barely maintain the one I try to work. You seem to have mastered many. Ill be watching. Keep up the amazing work.

I do appreciate that!
You may be a hobbyist but you could be a professional easy. You have far more talent than I.
I have just learned to work around what I cant do. lol
You work in many styles very well which tells me you are skilled. I have been an Art Director for many companies and currently am one for a new comic studio. I have seen hundreds if not thousands of portfolios over the years. I can tell at a glance most times if a guy has it.
I can assure you, you could be a pro no problem.
If you took a few weeks and really defined a style for yourself. Your work would really be sweet.
Working in lots of style shows you are skilled but, as an AD it can cause confusion even if the work is good.
Create a style from everything you personally do well and you will be a hit.

If I'm REALLY that good, then I should have pulled it off 20 years ago! After I got married and got our first child, I never put as much enthusiasm into my art as I did when I was a kid, which I really regret. It takes a lot of time, plus comic book artists, unless you're Jim Lee or Todd McFarlane, the salary isn't enough to raise a family.  But it's on my bucket list, I truly intend to make at least a complete series of my current OC before my time :)
