Kimagure Orange Road 30th Anniversary by wayner8088 Kimagure Orange Road 30th Anniversary by wayner8088
This is the beloved Ayukawa Madoka. She's the reason why I draw comic books. To this day I still absolutely adore this character. Nothing can top her. Nothing. Not even Asuna ;) I can't believe KOR turned 30 this year. I'm so old :( But I don't care. Ayukawa is for life. Thanks sailorsniper for the inspiration and deep conversations of manga and anime during this era!

True, nothing can top her. In my opinion, she's the most realistic anime girl in anime then and even now. That is why she is the best. She is depicted as an actual human being unlike many anime characters. I could see her as a real person which is something I would never think of with other anime characters.

Since it's been 30 years, I hope Madoka doesn't look old and have like three teenage kids lol. I couldn't imagine her that way. Couldn't believe it's been 30 years, time is quick. I'm also too old.

LOL I have three teenage kids. But it's true, Ayukawa Madoka is the amalgamation of a "realistic fantasy". She's everything a guy could ever want, unless, of course, you go on her bad side. Her physical prowess and her ability to love so deeply with Kasuga has captivated a generation of manga and anime fans around the world. Not to mention the music! OMG I listed to Wada Kanako to work this morning!! :D

I love Kanako Wada's music too. Interestingly, Kasuga is basically the personality of Izumi Matsumoto. ABCB is also real but under a different name.  Oh about Madoka, I've known someone with the personality and the hair style of her but that was when I was very young and still 80s era. That person was my first crush and love. Lol. I still miss her today.

Oh and check out my Madoka Ayukawa artworks. I usually put them up from time to time.

You know, the inspiration for Ayukawa Madoka was the famous American actress Phoebe Cates! She was very cute back in the 80's, and she's still very attractive to this day. Aged very well :)

Well aged, it could be from the many make up she used and possibly some plastic surgery I might not know of. Medical tech these days can make people appear much younger.

Yup, I know who Phoebe Cates is. I saw her in a movie when I was young. She was a teen then. Lol, I remember being attracted to her too back then.

Have you read the Shin KOR novels?

It's funny, I haven't. I need to get copies of those, or at least see if I can't download it off the internet ^^;

Well, its not good. The theme in is pretty grim and dark compare to the main series. It felt like a completely different story and the comedy is gone. So its a huge shift in theme. Also the characters are going through very tough times.  It made me very sad. Several tragedies too. I suggest you stick to the first movie as the official ending or the last chapter in the main manga.

Ahhh that's okay! I love a good read. It's weird that I never read the manga first. I always treated the anime and the movies as the "actual" storyline.
